Upcoming Events at Quakertown 1st Saturday Series 2008 Our  New Saturday Sampler series begins Saturday, April 5.  Sue Garman has designed 12 beautiful 'twas the Night Before Christmas applique blocks.  The pieced blocks will be done in coordinating red, green and white fabrics.  You will also have a option to choose pieced blocks designed by the Quakertown design team that are done in either 30's fabrics or western fabrics.  Join us as we introduce our new Saturday Sampler on April 5.  The first session meets at 9:00 a.m. and the second session begins at 9:45 a.m.  Be a part of this fun series from the beginning. Join our Knit-in! Theresa Filberth (our knitting teacher) will host a knit-in at Quakertown beginning on Saturday, March 1.  Stay after First Saturday to sit around and knit with others.  No fees, no registration - just come, learn and enjoy!  We'll begin around 10:30 a.m. Third Saturday and Following Monday Back-it Up Days On every third Saturday and following Monday, you have the opportunity to purchase fabrics in our Backroom area that is discounted even more!  Buy three yards of the same fabrics and receive a 10% discount.  Purchase 6 yards and you receive a 15% discount and 9 yards entitles you to 20% discount off that one fabric. Fourth Tuesday Pin Cushion Party Join Laurel on the fourth Tuesday of each at a display of antique pin cushions and other sewing implements.  We will also have ideas for pin cushions for you to make for yourself and your friends on display.  No registration required; just come and browse. Galveston Retreat - Join Quakertown for our third annual Galveston Quilting Retreat at the Victorian Condo-Hotel in February 2009.    You will be sewing your own projects and taking optional quilting classes.  Your base price includes room (double occupancy), 3 lunches, snacks and other goodies from Quakertown.  The rooms all have kitchenettes.  Attractions close to the Victorian include walking along the seawall, shopping on the Strand, visiting Moody Gardens, and many historic buildings throughout Galveston.  Not included in the price are your class fees and supplies.  If you have any questions or need a registration form, please stop by or give us a call at the shop 281-996-1756 x2 (or toll free 888-464-7845 x2). We are located about 20 miles from Houston, Texas.  From downtown, take I-45 south (Gulf Freeway) towards Galveston.  Exit FM 2351 for Friendswood. Turn right (west) on FM 2351. Drive about 3 miles to the corner of FM 2351 and FM 518 (Friendswood Drive).  We are located on the south west corner next to Tuesday Morning.  If you are planning a day in this area, we are a short 20 minute drive from NASA and the Kemah Boardwalk.  There are also several great restaurants near our shop and along the Kemah Boardwalk. Special Holiday Hours We are closed all day on New Year's Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas Days.  We are also closed all Sundays.  We close early on the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.  We are open all other days. Store Hours Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
