Class Schedule Friendswood

All classes are held at Quakertown Quilts in Friendswood, Texas.  We do not cancel any classes regardless of number of students that sign up. Therefore, our class fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Your spot is guaranteed upon payment of class fee. Class supplies may be purchased at time of registration or during class times with a 15% discount. We do appreciate the opportunity to supply any materials you may need for your classes.

Beginning Classes

Basic sewing skills are required.

Beginning quilter should have knowledge of rotary cutting and basic hand and machine sewing.

An easy, breezy quilt for beginners with several size options.  Also, a quick weekend quilt for any level quilter.  Connie Brose, $60.00

Let's Get Started

This class is for everyone who is just getting started in quilting.  Part lecture/demo, part hands-on, we will provide the tools and fabrics for this class.  You will learn to rotary cut, strip piece, and how to achieve the perfect ¼” seam allowance.  Ramona Williams. $30.00.

Super Simple 2nd Saturday

 Build a Quilt Weekend Camp

Beginning Machine Quilting

Disappearing 9-Patch

It is a simple variation on the traditional nine-patch block.  It is very easy to make, and looks impressive when finished.  Ramona Williams, $60.00

Shaded 9-Patch Quilt

This is a very simple block.  Similar to a Log Cabin, it is half dark and half light.  This block has a lot of design possibilities.  Great block to use for a single block quilt.  Ramona Williams, $60.00

Let's Get Stripping

This quilt is made using the “Quilt-as-you-go” method.  It is a simple quilt that incorporates the use of novelty fabrics and other coordinating fabrics.  Seven strips of fabric make up this quilt.  When piecing is completed, so is your quilting.  Pattern provided.  Leonor Escamilla,  $40.00

Intermediate-Experienced Classes

Intermediate quilter is able to do more complicated construction.  Experienced quilter is accomplished in most quilting or appliqué techniques.

Ultimate Borders

Rising Sun

The Kansas City Star first called this block the Christmas Star in 1931.  Winnie has revised the block and simplified it with strip piecing instructions (NO templates!!).  Create stunning star blocks that radiate with any fabrics.  Winnie Fleming, $60.00
