Class Schedule
Quakertown at The Woodlands
All classes are held at Quakertown Quilts
at the Woodlands in The Woodlands,
Texas. We do not cancel any classes regardless of number of students that
sign up. Therefore, our class fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
Your spot is guaranteed upon payment of class fee. Class supplies may
be purchased at time of registration or during class times with a 15%
discount. We do appreciate the opportunity to supply any materials you
may need for your classes.

Beginning
Classes
Basic sewing skills are required.
Beginning quilter should have
knowledge of rotary cutting and basic hand and machine sewing.


Appliqué Class 101
If
you have ever enjoyed looking at appliqué and wanted to learn how they
do that, then this is the class for you. You will be taught by an
experienced teacher who will teach you the Piece of Cake Way. This is a
four-month class meeting once a month. You will learn needleturn
appliqué and so much more. Judy Perguson, $60

Appliqué Intermediate Class
This is a continuation of Appliqué 101. Now that you are comfortable
with the basics of needleturn appliqué, take it to the next level. This
class will feature dimensional appliqué such as ruching and folding to
create beautiful flowers and buds. We’ll make a woven basket for your
dimensional flowers. Make your appliqué blocks unique with a variety of
special techniques including trapunto, reverse appliqué and broderie

Border Stripe Table Runner
Imagine creating an exciting, unique table runner from one
border-striped fabric. The simple-to-follow instructions will allow you
to create a variety of blocks from this one fabric and the blocks,
borders and binding can all be cut from this same piece of fabric.

Colourque Wall Hanging
Would you like the look of appliqué without the hours of hand sewing?
Learn the new technique of Colourque in which you create the look of
intricate appliqué using colored pencils. This technique can be easily
transferred from a small wall hanging to larger projects to create your

Pressed Flowers Quilt
An
easy quilt using fat quarters. You will be making four-patch blocks and
adding fused appliqué flowers to make this quilt stand out. A good
beginner class. Come join the fun whether you are new to quilting or an

(Blue Quilt)
Mutt and Jeff
Join this fun class from a Quilt Country pattern by Joan Lush. If you
have a stash of leftovers or new fabrics, consider raiding it for this
quilt. You can use even more variety than the pattern calls for, in
lesser amounts. Just be sure you have about as many lights as you do
mediums/darks. You may want to wait until the quilt top is sewn before
you choose the border and binding fabrics. Jan Thompson, $45

Handmade Labels for Your Quilt
Beautiful handmade quilt labels will be yours after this informative
fun-filled class! You’ll amaze yourself when you see what you can create

Machine Quilting
This two-day class
is designed to give you the confidence to start machine quilting. Class will cover:
starting and stopping stitches, quilting “in the ditch”,
free motion, and marking a design. All this

Christmas Cactus Wall Hanging
Paper piecing the quick strip way! Christmas Cactus is a wall quilt made
from the Palm Leaf block. This wall hanging will make a beautiful
addition to your Christmas collection or a great gift for someone

Beginning Quilting 101
Two
strip-pieced blocks make up the design in this quilt made with Jelly
Roll strips. We will make the Road block pattern from the book, Jelly
Roll Quilts by Kathy Brown. This class is fun and makes a beautiful

Folded Star Ornament
This complex and visually exciting ornament is actually a simple fabric
folding technique that you learn in minutes--- no sewing required. You
can create a large variety of designs by simple fabric placements and
the number of fabrics chosen for the ornament. This makes great gifts.

Twisted Sisters Quilt
A
fast, fun and easy quilt using fat quarters or yardage depending on the
size of quilt you want to make. You can pick 3 main colors or use your
stash to make it scrappy. Using the rotary template and pattern by Ami
Simms, you will create a stunning, one of a kind quilt. Jill
